Student Volunteer Opportunity: Junior Achievement of Eastern Iowa

How can I contribute, you asked?

We are coordinating efforts with Junior Achievement of Eastern Iowa working on several programs they have in local school districts which translates to several opportunities for volunteers to get involved in January and February.

We are including a list of the available classrooms below. If you are unable to help, maybe you know someone you work with that would. Please feel free to forward this email.

This initiative gives you the opportunity to earn PDUs by sharing your personal and professional experiences with students in your community, and help them make the connection between what they are learning in school and what they will need to succeed in work and life.

Every resource needed to lead the short discussions and activities is provided to you in a kit, including a guide that walks you through each lesson. The time commitment is just an hour a week for 5-7 weeks.

If you are able to help, please copy and paste the line corresponding to your chosen schedule and reply to Amy Andersen (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) and Angie Ward (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.), members of the Junior Achievement of Eastern Iowa Education Team. You can also contact them by phone at (319) 862-1100.

All opportunities are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

“Our JA volunteer is very nice and she knows about trade and things like that. I learned that she is a very good JA teacher and that she should come back next year”. 4th Grade - North Linn student
